Impact Assessment
Kidicorp Rotorua
After assisting with several other childcare centres for Kidicorp we were engaged to assist with a new site in Rotorua. This involved helping the design team with the site design and parking layout, and preparing an impact assessment. Access to the site was difficult as the site is located on the intersection of a narrow local road with limited visibility and a busy State Highway. The site is now operating.
Childcare Centre, St Marks
When a property investor wished to obtain resource consent for a childcare centre in the St Marks area in Auckland he engaged us to assist with the design of parking and to prepare an impact assessment for resource consent. This involved surveys of other childcare centres to refine parking demand and trip generation estimates.
We provided expert witness services during the resource consent hearing and a subsequent appeal to the Environment Court.
Reformed Church Avondale
The Reformed Church of Avondale engaged us when Council requested a traffic assessment for their resource consent application to replace an aging hall building on the site.
We reviewed the parking design, maximising the use of the site; surveyed parking supply and demand on the site and on the street, and prepared an impact assessment to Council's requirements
St Chads Church
St Chads Church in Meadowbank, Auckland wished to upgrade the facilities on it site and we were engaged to assist the architectural team with parking supply and demand, parking design and in preparing for a resource consent application.
Our work included parking surveys of the surrounding area to ascertain the impact of the changes and the preparation of an impact assessment to accompany the resource consent. Construction is now underway.
Encounter Christian Centre
When Encounter Christian Centre acquired a warehouse and office site in a commerical area they engaged Wes Edwards Consulting to review the site design and to prepare an Impact Assessment to accompany the resource consent for the new church auditorium and offices.
Sovereign Pier
We were engaged to assist Avery Team Architecture in designing the Sovereign Pier Apartment complex adjoining the canals in Whitianga. We helped to design access, circulation and parking layouts and prepared an impact assessment. We also provided expert witness services to the resource consent hearing.
Kohimarama Plan Change
Our client had a challenging development problem - a block of undeveloped land in Kohimarama with relatively steep topography and constrained access and a goal of building a 200-unit apartment-style retirement village.
Edenvale Resthome, Mt Eden
Wes Edwards Consulting was engaged by the trust board operating the Edenvale Resthome in Mt Eden to assist them in their plans for expansion of the site, and to upgrade the facilities provided to residents.
We assisted the architects in preparing site and parking designs to accommodate the changing needs of the home over several stages of development. We prepared an impact assessment for resource consent and this included surveys of on-street parking in the area. We provide expert witness services to the resource consent hearing.
Retirement Apartments
When Albany City Developments needed to develop a large apartment-style retirement village in Albany they engaged Wes Edwards Consulting to assist.
We helped the architectural team to develop the site design ensuring that adequate access for all vehicles, including service trucks was provided, and we assisted with the design of the large basement parking area. We also prepared impact assessments for resource consent.
Holiday Inn, Albany
We were engaged by Albany City Developments to assist with a new hotel project in Albany.
We helped the design team by reviewing the site design to ensure tour coaches and other vehicles had adequate access to the site, and in reviewing the parking design to ensure that it worked and was compliant with the District Plan requirements.
We also prepared an assessment of effects for the resource consent including a detailed consideration of parking supply and demand.
