Street Design

Street Design

mteden.JPGOne of our key strengths is our expertise in designing streets, not just for the movement of vehicles, but streets for people.  This is a component of urban master-planning and neighbourhood design, but also includes the design of pedestrian paths and crossing facilities and cycle facilities.

Cambridge Park Subdivision

We were engaged by the designers of this new residential subdivision for 300 homes to review the proposed street layout and design and to assist in obtaining consent for subdivision.  Resource consent has been granted.

Beachfront Lane, Browns Bay

In this project we were engaged as a sub-consultant in the project to upgrade Beachfront Lane in Browns Bay.  We provided advice regarding street design, vehicle tracking and parking design.

Mt Wellington Quarry

We were engaged together with Isthmus Group to help review the proposed design of the street network in Mt Wellington Quarry and to establish a series of streetscape design guidelines.
We were subsequently engaged directly by Auckland City to provide urban design/ transportation review of the proposed town centre.

Glen Innes Town Centre

We were engaged as a sub-consultant in the project to redevelop the northern part of the Glen Innes Town Centre.  We provided advice regarding intersection and street design and parking design, working together with the urban designers and Council's community team.

Tonar Street South

We were engaged to assist with the transportation aspects of the urban design for this Housing NZ redevelopment project.  We collaborated with the urban design team to produce a good design given the constraints of the site.

Kingsland Centre

We were engaged by Auckland City Council as part of a consortium to review the streetscape of the Kingsland town centre in Auckland.

The project was to provide an improved streetscape for pedestrians ahead of the Rugby World Cup while respecting the arterial function of New North Road; however due to budget constraints the project was cancelled after designs were prepared.

The project involved being part of a design team including urban design, landscape, and lighting specialists.

Ascot Parade, Ellerslie

We were engaged to assist with obtaining subdivision consent for this new office development providing over 17,000 m2 of office space and for assisting with the design and assessment for the first of four buildings.

Taupo East Urban Lands

eul.jpgWe were engaged to review the masterplan for this area that proposes 2000 new houses, a town centre, and a tertiary campus in Taupo.

We advised on subdivision layout, street and intersection design, and connections to the road network.  The masterplan makes extensive use of cycle paths and promotes numerous pedestrian-friendly aspects.

Anselmi Ridge

McConnell Property requested our assistance with the design and assessment of this masterplanned residential area in eastern Pukekohe. Stage 1 has provided sites for 175 homes and plans for subsequent stages are well advanced.
