Street Design

One of our key strengths is our expertise in designing streets, not just for the movement of vehicles, but streets for people.  This is a component of urban master-planning and neighbourhood design, but also includes the design of pedestrian paths and crossing facilities and cycle facilities. 

We have substantial experience with low-speed low-volume residential streets, rear-lanes and shared-surfaces; traffic calming; and local area traffic management schemes.

At the busier end we have experience designing new arterial routes and improving existing roads; and have experience in dealing with the often competing demands present in town centres on busy roads.

We work together with civil engineers, urban designers, landscape architects, and street lighting experts to achieve practical, safe, attractive, and efficient designs.
